At “Bodies, Materials,” experience Julien Klopfenstein’s new dance performance inspired by Júlia Néma’s “Immersion” exhibition at Apollo Gallery. The performance will be followed by a conversation with the two artists.
PERFORMANCE – JULIEN KLOPFENSTEIN
“From the Dust of the Earth” is Julien Klopfenstein’s latest dance performance, inspired by Júlia Néma’s work. Drawing from the materiality and alchemy of Néma’s art and the philosophy of Butoh dance, the choreography explores themes of nature, impermanence, transformation, and the connection between the human body and the raw elements of the earth. Using clay, sand, and stones sourced from Hungarian mines, Julien creates a mysterious, hypnotic poetry through the language of movement.

EXHIBITION – JÚLIA NÉMA
This event is inspired by Júlia Néma, a Ferenczy Noémi Prize-winning porcelain and ceramics designer. Her Immersion exhibition showcases the fascinating interplay of earth, paper, and other natural materials. The visual and textural richness of the works perfectly complements the symbolic language of the dance performance. Júlia Néma’s artistic philosophy emphasizes the spiritual essence of natural materials, carrying the stories of both past and present.

After the performance, attendees are invited to join an informal conversation with the artists, offering insights into their creative processes and inspirations.
